BIOGRAPHY
Bill Kartalopoulos is a Brooklyn-based critic, educator, curator and publisher. He is a director of the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival, the publisher/editor of Rebus Books and has taught classes about comics and illustration at Parsons the New School for Design. He is the programming coordinator for SPX: The Small Press Expo, a member of the Executive Committee for the International Comic Arts Forum (ICAF), a Contributing Editor for Print Magazine, and has worked as an assistant to Art Spiegelman for several years. He is a frequent public speaker about comics and comics education, and has led public conversations with Chris Ware, Lynda Barry, Joe Sacco, Charles Burns, Brooke Gladstone, Chip Kidd, and many others. He previously published the comics newsblog EGON and edited Indy Magazine, which was the first online publication to be nominated for Eisner and Harvey Awards. He earned a Bachelors Degree in History from Dartmouth College and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Media Studies at The New School. He can be reached via email.
